After Kate's wedding to Nick, and before, we stayed with mam in Rhyl. Here's mam and Geraint with Sam. Below the shot of the three of us, Jo can be seen walking and waving across the interior of Beaumaris Castle. Then there's Jo and Sam exchanging smiles. And finally Sam preparing to go to sleep during Kate's wedding ceremony and snore...

Saturday the fourth
We went to Birdlip to the Royal George http://www.theroyalgeorge-hotel.com/ for Pama Bach's birthday meal. This is the hotel where Pama Mawr took her 67 years ago for their first date.
Everybody turned up: Lowri with her boys, Chris and Harri; Catrin with Mark; Dad and Ronnie were there from the night before. It was the first time Sam had met Harri and, to be honest, they didn't make a great impression on one another. Everyone else was very fond of the new arrivals. I managed to get a photograph of four generations of Bruces, from Sam up to Pama Mawr - see below.
Some of the photographs were taken in a scrum similar to that seen outside a nightclub as Girls Aloud leave, so eyes are often looking towards the wrong lens.

Friday the third
We went to Hardwicke for Pama Bach's (my grandmother's) 97th birthday celebration and travelled the day before to make sure we arrived safely, which we did. Sam was pleased to meet his great-grandparents and great aunt and their friends.
These images, and all the others from this weekend, are high-res so might take a while to download, but will give you a good print if you're inclined. Katharine: I'm going to get some nice prints done to send down to the gps and yourself, but I'm not stopping you printing them off here in the meantime!

Sam enchanted evening...
Excuse the cheesy header. Sam's been home for a few days now. He's met all his grandparents and is feeling very spoilt. I'm speaking for him there as his feelings still revolve around food, poo and sleep. He's good at all those three daily objectives and is a little joy for Jo and me.
He went for his first trip to the shops today in his pram, up the road to the grocers, then a stroll around the park. He slept throughout of course.
You know all the people in the pics by now. I'm the devilishly handsome one.

Sam comes homes...
Jo and Sam came home yesterday (Saturday 2 August). He'd been diagnosed with a bit of mild jaundice, so we spent an afternoon holding him towards the sun. I've heard that some Africa traditions see babies held to the sun as soon as they are born, thanking the gods kind of thing... The sunglasses were done for medical reasons, i.e. not to blind him, not just to make him look really cute.
By now, Sunday afternoon, Jo is recovering nicely. Sam is sleeping well, not necessarily at the most convenient times, but he's very healthy and does some good pooing for his lucky mam and dad.
The pictures are in no particular order (life currently too chaotic for that) but the people who aren't Jo or me are my father, Jo's mam, and Nisha and James. And the little one is Sambob.
